The Great Dane is a very large dog originally bred for hunting. They have a short coat that requires little grooming. A dog with a lot of energy, Great Danes need regular exercise. Although these dogs are massive in size they are gentle giants that make great family pets. They get along well with people and animals, although due to their size children should be supervised.
